About Our Classes

All of our classes are “O2-style” (read more about that here), but here’s a few notes on what the class levels mean:

BASICS:

The focus in Basics is on O2 Yoga Foundations, breaking down the principles of safety and alignment fundamental to standard and recurring postures. These classes are appropriate for those new to yoga, new to the studio, or students wishing to refresh and reconnect to their practice. Class offerings vary in length from 60 minutes to 75 minutes. Click here to see this week’s Basics class times.

INTERMEDIATE:

Building off the foundations taught in Basics, our Intermediate level classes are focused on more advanced poses, arm balances, and inversions with the goal of building the strength, flexibility, and focus required for O2 Power classes. This class is not appropriate for beginners. Class offerings vary in length from 60 minutes to 75 minutes.  Click here to see this week’s Intermediate class times.

RAJAS:

Rajas Hour is designed for the experienced beginner and beyond. Expect to break a sweat as you work towards challenging postures with focus on standing asana, strength, and heat-building. Rajas is Sanskrit for change, motion, action, transformation, and creation. This vigorous, hour-long practice will get you moving and energize you. All of our classes are taught progressively and are athletic. (Please note that we currently do not have any Rajas classes on our schedule, as of June 2021.)

POWER:

This is the advanced level of O2 Yoga. The instructor leads the class through a flowing and varied sequence of postures including arm balances, backbends and inversions. Playful and expanding, this class is intended to challenge the more experienced student. This class is not appropriate for beginners.  Classes are 90 minutes.  Click here to see this week’s Power class times.

ASTANGA – PRIMARY SERIES:

The Astanga Yoga system is the foundation for the O2 Yoga practice. An Astanga class will include predictable sequencing (meaning it will be the same every time), focused on flow (vinyasa), and working toward full expression of postures with proper execution of breath and timing. While modifications are offered, this monthly workshop is not appropriate for beginners. Workshops are 90 minutes.  Click here to see this month’s Astanga workshop time. ASTANGA – SECOND SERIES:

Second Series builds on the sequence found in Primary Series.  It is our most advanced class offering.  Second Series replaces Primary Series for the last Astanga offering of the month.  While modifications are offered, this class is not appropriate for beginners. Classes are 90 minutes. (Please note that we currently do not have any Second Series classes on our schedule, as of June 2021.)

KARMA:

Karma Classes typically appear on our schedule in the winter months and feature our recent Teacher Training graduates.  These 60-minute Intermediate-level classes are discounted, and we donate 100% percent of the profits to charity.  More details can be found here
