Join Elliott, Lynne, & Paulina and practice the Primary and Second Series of aṣtanga yoga. Primary Series happens weekly at 7:30pm on Tuesdays with Elliott in Somerville; and in Cambridge, Astanga happens at 7pm on Wednesdays in Cambridge with Lynne* (the Wednesday evening class is held in our Little Studio) 7am on Fridays with Paulina. This practice is a set series of postures focused on forward folds and hamstring strength and flexibility and serves as the foundation for O2 Yoga. During the last aṣtanga offering of the month we offer Second Series, which builds on the work in our regular Primary Series classes, but focuses more on backbending and hip opening with some fun inversions, dynamic jumping postures, and, of course, the 7 headstands. These classes move very quickly and are recommended for more advanced practitioners.
*Please note: starting in April…the Wednesday 7pm Astanga class with Lynne in Cambridge is moving to Thursdays at 6pm and is switching to a 75 minute “Astanga Foundations” practice (but will still be replaced with full 90-minute Astanga Second Series on the final Thursday of every month)
